There could be no Katy Perry Sesame Street

There will not be the Katy Perry “Sesame Street” show airing anymore. “Sesame Street” is well-liked as a children’s show and known for the appearances of famous stars all the time. There is a part where the singer and Elmo sing a duet together. Perry and Elmo sang a different version of her song “Hot and Cold,” but the apparel the performer chose to wear was too much for some mothers and fathers. Mothers and fathers started to worry and write letters and emails after seeing the leaked video on YouTube which resulted in the sketch getting pulled.

Perry guest stars on ‘Sesame Street’

“Sesame Street” and other Jim Henson productions have always featured appearances by celebrities of the day. In the last year, Katy Perry has had hits get lots of radio and music video on Television airtime because she is so well-liked at the moment. Having Katy Perry on “Sesame Street” just makes sense. The producers of the show filmed a segment where she sings a version of her song “Hot and Cold” with Elmo. The lyrics were altered so the song was entirely kid friendly, but that was not what incensed moms and dads.

Her visual appeal is what parents don’t say ‘yes’ to

Elmo is one of probably the most popular characters on the show. The clip of Perry singing with him was released on YouTube to be watched be anyone. Viewers thought the clip was inappropriate for kids and wrote e-mails and letters quickly. The content of the Katy Perry Elmo segment is entirely innocuous, however Perry’s dress shows a bit too much cleavage for a kid’s show, according to MSNBC.

The segment won’t be aired

Producers dropped the segment because of all the outrage concerned parents showed. The clip is nevertheless available on YouTube, and neither Perry nor her comedian fiancé Russel Brand have had anything to say as yet.
